We are delighted and honored to hear that we have been selected for the final round of the design competition to develop the ascent of the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. We are designing this bicycle bridge for Transport for NSW (New South Wales). The bicycle bridge is intended to replace the existing 55-step staircase that is used daily by more than two thousand people. Carrying the bicycle upwards will soon become a thing of the past.

In the meantime, the design proposals have been submitted by the 3 participating teams. The complete files are available online, including the visuals made on fixed points of view, so that the proposals are easily comparable. The proposals can now be commented on by the local community. The jury will decide in January whether the proposal will be worked out towards realisation.

We are working with our partners Ney architecten (Brussels) and some local partners: Civille , Djinjama and Sue Rosen Associates in an intensive period of only four weeks on a design that matches the status of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, one of the icons of the city. In addition, the design also simply has to work well for cyclists. Also, the design must match the heritage status of the historic bridge, respect the existing park on site and also embrace the culture of the original inhabitants.
The other teams are led by Aspect Studios and Realm! Studios, both from Sydney.
